It is fun getting to see this little guy grow and change as he comes in for his portrait sessions!  I have been photographing him since he was born.  This was his third session in his 1 year baby plan.  He has developed such a fun personality and is very smiley and giggly.  8 months is such a fun age!

Is there anything cuter than a little girl playing with her dolls?  Ordinarily a little wild child, when she has a baby to care for she suddenly becomes serious and loving: at least for a short moment! She is growing up so quickly!  I love being able to freeze her sweetness with each click of my shutter.  If only I could slow her down!  Time marches on.  All too soon she will be rocking real babies of her own.  A fleeting moment of childhood captured in time forever.  My truly adorable granddaughter!

1 Year Old Portrait Session

This sweet little one recently celebrated her big milestone birthday by coming to Legacy Portraits for new photos.  As a parent, I know just how quickly the first year goes by!  It always amazes me that, in just one short year, baby goes from completely dependent to walking, talking and showing so much personality!!  What a sweet and beautiful little girl she is!  She loved being outside and playing with the bubbles!  She was not a big fan of her cake though.  It is always interesting to see how every child reacts differently to having a cake to dig in to.  She was tentative and had to be coaxed to put her fingers in it.  She explored it a bit with her toes too but, decided it was not worth the mess for her!  She is such a doll!  Happy 1st Birthday!

The 6-7 month age is so much fun to photograph!  This beautiful girl came in for 7 month photos.  She sits up quite well on her own so I had a lot of posing options.  She didn’t give out her smiles easily but, she has such great expressions that smiles were not needed.  I got too many cute photos of her!  With those stunning blue eyes and and dark hair, this little girl is a heartbreaker!!  We also did a short family session that I will post later.  For now, enjoy the cuteness.  So fun!!

I remember as a child having family photographs taken.  It was a big deal to get dressed up, have clean shoes and socks and, ideally, not a hair out of place.  My mother always cut our bangs.  Even though she would put tape across them, they always were either too short or very crooked!  I have the pictures to prove it!!  My parents had seven children and somewhere along the way we stopped having professional family portraits taken.  It probably became too challenging to get everyone ready for family photos and then, with seven children, life just got busy!!  I know my parents still have those prints they bought so many years ago.  They will be treasured by generations for many years to come.  I always wish we had more though!

When my daughter and her young family had a recent visit I encouraged them to get outfits together and have a quick family portrait session.  My daughter was not feeling well, the kids were cranky and honestly, how many dads really want to pose for photos?  In spite of the chaos we got it done!  Little E will only have that toothless smile for a short while longer. And tiny T?  Her expressions of pure joy and innocence melt my heart!  They are changing in so many ways and so very quickly!  My wish is that they will one day look back at their prints and be grateful that their parents took the time for family photos.  I want their children to have those treasures to pass down.  What a gift that is!
